The effect is quite simple and it won't take you more than 30 minutes to achieve the same effect. Open Pixelmator and import an image of a light bulb. The one I am using is from Tischenko Irina and it's called Glowing lamp on black background.
The image is courtesy of Shutterstock. Note: Make sure that the filament is in the first plane. With the Eraser Tool E delete the parts of the glass that are being reflected. Pick the ones closer to the filament but not the filament, we need the yellow behind it so we can hide the filament. Add a new layer and start painting to hide the filament. That are we will add our text. Add the text you want. I added the word Pixelmator using Edwardian Script with white for the color. Use yellow for the color, 3 pixels for the width, Outside for the Position.
Make sure that the Preserve Transparency is not selected. Use 4 for the Radius. Fill this with white. This should make it thinner along its vertical access as shown. Change the Blending choice to Color Dodge. Add a new layer and fill it with black.
Change the Blending to Color Dodge. Create a new layer on the top of the others and use the Gradient Tool G to create a gradient in purple, red, yellow, and green.
Fill the layer with this gradient. Set the Width to 3 and the Sharpness to Set the Radius at and the Angle at Then, position the controller over the line as shown in the image below.
Repeat the same filter but change both the position of the controller and the Angle to Create a fascinating 80s look with a modern vintage twist by using various effects and tools in Pixelmator. Stock images of a girl , colorful background and eclipse are recommended for accomplishing the tutorial, but are not required.
Feel free to substitute them with your own preferred pictures. Create a new image in Pixelmator. Feel free to use any size. Increase the Saturation to 20 and click OK. Duplicate the layer with an increased saturation but without a blur. Drag it above other layers.
